University of Toledo ChemistryThe University of Toledo, in Spain, is an excellent school for the study of Chemistry. The Chemistry department at the University of Toledo offers many courses in research and teaching, and many undergraduate programs in Chemistry.The chemistry department, founded in 1954 by William E. Lewis Stewart, is an entirely interdisciplinary program. In fact, every student takes courses that focus on a particular area of Chemistry. Students majoring in the program major in a science, mathematics, or computer science, and who choose to take classes in the department's major field.All students taking courses in the department are required to pass a U.S. college entrance exam in order to be admitted. Students are required to complete a course in English composition, before they may register for courses in the chemistry major. The University of Toledo chemistry major is a challenging program, but it is also a rewarding program. It is recommended that all students att end an introductory chemistry class before they decide on their major.The University of Toledo is committed to providing up-to-date science and engineering education to its students. It also provides research opportunities to its graduates. Students studying Chemistry at the University of Toledo are given many opportunities to carry out independent research projects.Many of the students have the opportunity to collaborate with scientists and engineers from around the world by participating in some of the exciting collaboration opportunities available in the lab. A great example of this is a recent collaborative project with scientists from the Department of Biochemistry at Stanford University. This project led to the development of a novel method for preparing antibodies.Another example of this collaboration is the chemistry fellowship funded by the U.T. English and Design and Analysis Program. This fellowship helps students advance their degrees and train under professors from othe r universities. This fellowship has taken students to places like Turkey, Israel, Iran, and even China!It is also possible to earn an advanced degree in Chemistry at the University of Toledo. Students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in chemistry can study in the two division programs, Math and Chemical Engineering.The College of Arts and Sciences offers a variety of courses in a variety of fields. Most of the colleges that offer the College of Arts and Sciences are located in the downtown area of Toledo. These schools include: the College of Fine Arts, College of Languages and Cultures, College of Liberal Arts, College of Natural Sciences, College of Business and Management, College of Education, College of Medicine, and many more.
